Square
POS hardware, payments, and invoicing for small business locations.
Regions: US, Canada, International
Square provides point-of-sale hardware, payment processing, invoicing, and basic business tools for small businesses. It is easy to set up, transparent on pricing (flat-rate processing fees with no monthly minimums on the base plan), and widely used by single-location wellness operators. For franchise systems, however, Square presents limitations at scale: multi-location reporting is basic, there is no native franchisor dashboard, and royalty reporting requires manual exports or third-party integrations. Square is a reasonable starting point for a franchisee's first location or for retail add-on transactions, but franchise systems growing past a handful of locations typically need a platform built with multi-unit visibility in mind. Evaluate early whether your booking and POS can be unified or whether you will run separate systems.
